HOW DO YOU THINK SOCIAL MEDIA IS CHANGING THE ART WORLD? DO YOU THINK ITS BECOME A USEFUL TOOL FOR ARTISTS?
Yes, but jumping out of the format that social media has framed you in is really important, jumping out of the trendy Instagram feed, not letting the likes influence you, benefits comes with disadvantage always. Be clear of this all the time, these are the kind of the words I’m telling myself.

HOW HAS YOUR CHILDHOOD AND OWN CULTURE INFLUENCED YOUR WORK? IF AT ALL?
I think it made me feel unconfident to begin with because I’m doing something people usually don’t do, and that makes me feel insecure, and it took me a really long time to say that I'm an artist. I'm glad I was born and raised in Taiwan, so I can see my own culture and New York culture differently. I feel I have two lives.

I want it to be remembered in people's hearts even when I'm not famous anymore.

WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS TOWARDS THE OUTCRY AGAINST GUCCI ‘USING MEMES TO CAPITALIZE ON AN INTERNET SUBCULTURE?’
Haha, well… people say it's capitalism, that I'm easy to buy etc… I love fashion, I was majored in fashion design. I don't like that it’s this kind of politically correct argument, because it’s not, it's a combination of two cultures. For me it's beautiful and interesting, can internet subculture play with high fashion? Yes it can, then when it's reversed, why not? Or do you want artist’s suffering from being poor and struggling from depression? Being poor and depressed doesn't define art and neither do big brands either. You see what you define. It’s everyone’s opinions, and that’s mine.
